COLOUR
- Olive brownish or Olive green.
- The belly is cream, ivory, or pale.
- Back half often speckled.
- Towards tail can have oblique lateral bars.
- Inside of the mouth is inky black from where it derives its name.

FEEDING
Prefers warm blooded prey and will feed on:
- A large fast-moving snake equally at home in trees and on the ground.
- The head is coffin shaped with round eyes and the scales are smooth.
- Mice Squirrels, Rock Rabbits, Bushbabies, Mongooses,, Rats and Bats
- May eat birds and other snakes.
